Sandra Falkeborn is an artist, ceramicist and sculptor.
She works in mixed materials, both image and sculpture, with a focus on clay and textiles. Her main artistic expression sees organic sculptures inspired by the material and nature. Clay and sound have always fascinated her, and rattles in clay in different sizes and sounds are something she creates continuously.
Training
Spiderflower Earth-Engaged Performance Research
From 2015, Sandra has participated in courses in dance and theatre with Spiderflower: Earth-Engaged Performance Research. She completed Spiderflower's training for Accreditation Level 1 (Basic) in December 2022, she is due to become a mother and is currently on an extended sabbatical, prior to working through her active year of supervision.
Spiderflower is a dance, movement and theatre-based art form that bridge the relationship between body and earth. It is originated by Rowan Jacqueline and in development since 1999. Accreditation
The art education with Spiderflower is about knowing and being able to use its techniques in different art forms. In her accreditation of Spiderflower's techniques and skills in the artistic field, Sandra combines her training in Spiderflower with her own artistic expression. Under accreditation, she has completed a solo exhibition, In my grandmother's footsteps, 4th of September 2022 as well as a participatory clay workshop with a focus on the non-producing encounter with clay in Between hand and clay.
Folk High School/Comunity Collage
Sandra has studied for three years at Vårdinge By Folkhögskola between the years 2014-2017. First year Arts and Crafts, second year Ceramics and third year Art educator with a focus on ceramics.
University
Sandra has a bachelors degree in Behavioural Science from Mälardalens University and graduated in 2013. The main subject for th degree is in Sociology with a Social Psychology specialisation.
Inspiering Artists
Sandra's work over the years, has been inspired by several different artists. Amoung others, Rowan Jacqueline Beckett with her way of relating to and working with nature and dance. Paulus Berensohn (1933-2017) ceramicist and dancer, through his way of relating to clay and to life, as presented in the film: to spring from the hand. Margot Lindberg who gave a lot of encouragement in the first staggering year at Vårdinge by folkhögskola.
Previous Experience
Sandra has collaborated with other organisers and, among other things, been responsible for a workshop in clay during Initiativ Forum 2015, at Kulturcentrum in Järna, alongside a workshop in natural clay at the educational Naturliv 2019.
